Jas, the hamster formally known as Jasper

I think it's hamster proof, however Jas likes to prove me wrong, when she is in the playpen, the wheel and saucer are fun, when she is out, the carpet corner is fun!
 
Ah - maybe protect carpet corner. One of our hamsters chewed holes in one carpet!
 
Wow, actually through the carpet! I worry about the grippers that hold the carpet in place. I tried books to cover, if the book isn't heavy enough, she just moves it 🙂. She can be very determined
 
What a gorgeous photo of Jas, lovely to hear she's doing well and enjoys her playpen time. I found free roaming even in a secure room a bit stressful to start with, I was exactly the same when Hams went under the sofa. Now Jas has had a taste of freedom she'll probably keep looking up at the walls of the playpen next time thinking hey, let me out in the big space 😃
 
It wasn’t a very good carpet and a loop type construction so he only had to chew a little corner in the playpen and it started to unravel!
 
I can just imagine that, just a little chew, then look at what I've managed to achieve 🙂. It's like one of the videos, with a child with chocolate all over their face, saying I didn't eat it!

It got replaced recently as it also got water damaged during the pandemic. Before that I was just going to put a rug over the holes! No loopy carpet this time! It was in quite a small room where I used to put the playpen a few years ago.

I think Newt (who made the holes) took great delight in his destruction! He was slightly more maverick than Raffy (and about the same colour!).
 
The colouring is similar yes. Newt was a "proper cream" as he was a pedigree so the colour is deeper and gets more orangey as they get older. Raffy is a Heinz 57 and sort of rich tea biscuit coloured :-) But very similar personalities!
 
It kept her amused for a little while. Although she did work out, that if she went half way round and climb the wall, a helpful hand would take her straight to forage🙂
