I always carry essentials, stopped in a layby and gave dwarfie some looroll bedding.

Thank goodness they are safe now. Looks like the little dwarfie is making a nest in the hide.

One dwarfie has already a loving home lined up. I got both because i knew that i would not be able to leave one behind. I don't know yet who is moving where and will attend to that later. My immediate task is to give them a health check and make them more comfortable in their cages until i know more.

I've just dropped this little dwarfie off at his forever home. I know that he will be loved and cherished like the dwarfie before him who was also one of my rescues.

Well done Beryl, such a lovely little ham & great to know he’ll have a happy life of love & tlc now.

He's going to move into a better cage of course.

Now i got to think what to do with the dwarfie i knew fine i couldn't leave behind.

He'll have to go into a small bin for now but he's a big dwarf. Hmm, i haven't thought this out very well.....

Even a small bin with some enrichment will be an improvement for him I’m sure, I hope you can work something out that works for both him & you, you couldn’t have just left him behind.

I've tried that once before and left one behind but couldn't stop thinking about him and went back for him. That was Eddie's brother who is now living the highlife in a well set up detolf.

I was the same when I got Cal & couldn’t stop thinking about Gusto until I went back for him.

That will have to do for now. It's a bin with the meshed lid on top of the play bin.

OH named him Toby after a dog he's friends with.

The ears are up which is always a good sign.
I put his little plastic hut in because he's used to it and took the nicer ceramic hide out for now.
The plastic hut was the only thing in his cage aside from the plastic food bowl and bottle.

2 very cute dwarf hamsters 🐹🐹💕 Toby looks very happy in his new environment. Thank you Beryl 😇🪽💕

I like his name, it suits him! He’s a very handsome little guy & I’m sure he’ll love that set up, must seem amazing to him after having virtually nothing.

He's already abandonded his plastic hut in favour of a heap of Kaytee.

Fantastic Beryl, another two dwarfs saved. Lovely that one already has a forever home and Toby’s looking happy in his bin cage, he’s no doubt never seen so much enrichment, no wonder he’s dived into the Kaytee already, he’ll be in super explore mode. You do such an amazing job for all the hamsters.

Tobys an adorable little dwarf. He's looking good in his bin cage!!💕

Hmm. Toby is a big dwarf and that wheel looks too small. It's the spare Robo wheel.
I think i need to try and fit a 10in wheel in it but he likes the sand hut on the right and the lilac shelter has his water bowl...

I think what i'll do is to let him out in the playground in a couple of days or so. Then he can try out different wheels.

Just caught up with this! You've had a busy day :) So glad the first dwarfie went to a lovely home. Toby is a great name. He does look quite big doesn't he. I think he looks ok in that wheel. What is it? An 8"? The bin is full of lovely enrichment and I am sure he loves his temporary home. Glad he abandoned the little hut. I thought it was so sad when you said all he had in the cage was the little hut a plastic food bowl and a bottle. Not even a wheel?
