Socks: I hear Mom coming and thought to myself, I bet she is going to spot clean my multi chamber house. Luckily I had time to sit up and stretch out my nose to greet her. I get quite cross as I don't like being woken up during the day
Mom: I took a few snaps as Socks' coat is looking much better. It is an even mixture of half brown and half black!
Socks: Ok wandered around my house looking for places to curl up to avoid the camera. Mom picked me up, but then forgot to weigh me. I looked at her blearily. It was so nice to get into bed and go back to sleep!

Could be I think black hamsters commonly go browner in places - my last one did. But yes maybe a bit of golden in there too

Mom: Fumbling my way through an early morning clean, I thought I'd take a photo, but the best laid plans as they say...
Socks: Mom started hovering with the camera while I was drinking, and then while I was pouching supplies for later. I was overcome with aerial predator angst (something hamsters are prone to) and popped back into my house.
Mom: Socks is more adventurous at night. I got one quick photo, but I think I spoiled his breakfast, sorry Socks

Socks: Mom cleans my loo in the morning. I have a thin layer of tissue over my nest for insulation and privacy and the loo is at the other end of the house.
Mom: All I could see was Socks' nose peeping out from under his bedding, very cute
Socks: I get a bit touchy when woken up, sometimes I'm glad Mom can't hear ultrasound
The gin gins: We can, but Socks needn't worry, we won't tell Mom
